Our client is a well-established freight forwarding and logistics provider, specialising in European road transport and supply chain solutions. We are looking for an experienced Road Freight Export Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of their road freight export department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating export shipments, managing trailer planning and capacity, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport solutions between the UK and European partners.

Package

  • Salary £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Working hours 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday (Fully in office)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end road freight export operations, coordinating with customers, warehouses, drivers, and carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Plan and allocate trailers, optimise utilisation, and manage loading schedules to maximise efficiency and reduce empty mileage.
  • Monitor shipments, proactively resolve issues, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Supervise and support the export operations team, providing guidance on planning, routing, and problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations, while maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and international partners.

Requirements

  • Proven managerial or supervisory experience within road freight, specifically in European exports.
  • Strong knowledge of trailer planning, route optimisation, and export operations.
  • Understanding of export documentation, including CMRs and customs procedures, with knowledge of transport regulations and compliance.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on cost management and efficiency.
  • Ability to lead, support, and develop a team.
