Job Description

(Customs Supervisor) – Position Overview My client is a UK shipping agent and logistics partner, providing shipping agent services, and supplying marine fuels for the UK and Ireland. They are now looking for a Customs Supersivor to help ensure the smooth and effecient running of the customs team and develop commercial business to ensure the growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient logistics and customs solutions across customer supply chains.
  • Act as key customer contact in manager's absence; maintain strong relationships and address competitor activity.
  • Oversee account management, workload distribution, and team support.
  • Drive business development by identifying and securing new opportunities and cross-selling services.
  • Manage operations across the Port of Liverpool, Widnes, and other UK sites, liaising with logistics partners.
  • Handle pricing, margin optimisation, and financial queries with the accounts team.
  • Monitor and control inventory, ensuring continuous service improvement and excellent customer experience.
  • Supervise daily team activities; ensure quality, safety, environmental, and financial standards are met.
  • Use internal systems for planning, tracking and reporting work.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and provide general support to management.

(Customs Supervisor) – Position Requirements

  • Proven experience managing key customer relationships (essential).
  • Background in supply chain, steel, or bulk logistics (desirable).
  • Relevant industry experience required; sector qualification preferred.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (essential).
