Job Description
(Class 1 HGV Driver) – Position Overview Our client is an All-round logistics provider specializing in next day/ same day delivery of air and sea freight as well as the distribution of heavy, awkward and dangerous consignments within the UK.As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will have the responsibility of driving company vehicles in a safe manner and adhere to all relevant legislation / rules in relation to the loads being transported.Your main tasks will be:
- Completing deliveries / collections throughout the UK, starting in the company's depot in Birmingham/ Solihull
- Load and unload in line with the company code of practice and use appropriate equipment.
- Maintain security of load while loading, transporting and delivering.
- Comply with various legislations regarding vehicle safety, tachographs operation and Working Time Directive.
(Class 1 HGV Driver) – Position Requirements
- C+E Licence requirement.
- Valid Driver CPC card (DQC) essential.
- Digital tachograph card essential.
- Minimum 2 years of LGV vehicle driving experience and must be over 25 years old due to underwritten insurance.
- Good knowledge of EU Regulations and Working Time Directive.
- Geographical knowledge of major UK roads.
- Sound knowledge of Highway Code and speed limits for size of vehicle / type of road.
- Good working knowledge of manual loading / unloading and securing freight.
- Unacceptable endorsements: Drink or drugs related endorsements within the past 10 years / any disqualifications in the past 5 years / any codes on licence with prefix: IN CD, DD, DR, and BA.
- Flexibility in work hours may be necessary.

- Monday to Friday (Night shifts) 6pm to 4am or 7pm to 5am
- 25 days plus bank holidays (33 in total)
