Our client is one of the UK's leading structural steel fabrication and construction companies, designing, fabricating and erecting steelwork across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Steel Framing Detailer to join their busy Technical Office.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business, working on a diverse range of projects from concept through to manufacture and erection. The successful candidate will produce accurate drawings, 3D models and manufacturing information, working closely with internal teams and external project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered accurately and to a high standard.
Steel Framing Detailer - Position Remuneration
- £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, full-time, office-based
- Hybrid or remote working arrangements may be considered

Steel Framing Detailer - Position Overview
- Produce detailed steel framing drawings and 3D models using Tekla Structures and Revit
- Interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings to develop practical, buildable solutions
- Generate manufacturing information including member sizes, connection details, panel layouts and assembly sequences
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, manufacturing and site teams
- Attend design and project coordination meetings as required
- Ensure drawings and models meet client specifications, building regulations and manufacturing requirements
- Identify and resolve detailing and design coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle
- Support material ordering, procurement and material control activities as required
Steel Framing Detailer - Position Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience detailing Light Gauge Steel (LGS) structures using Tekla Structures, Revit or similar
- Strong understanding of LGS framing systems, including infill and load-bearing applications
- Ability to accurately interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings
- Strong technical, problem-solving and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a wider design team
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical supervision
- Experience with Howick framing systems would be highly desirable
- Structural steel fabrication, offsite manufacturing or BIM experience would be advantageous
- Understanding of UK building regulations and construction standards relating to steel framing systems would be beneficial
