Vehicle Technician / Mechanic required. Our client is a well-established independent garage based in Midhurst with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repair services. They are now seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their busy and professional workshop team. The successful candidate will be a qualified Level 3 Technician with strong workshop experience, capable of working independently and contributing from day one. An MOT Tester licence would be highly advantageous, although training may be available for the right individual.

Position Overview

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of vehicle makes and models
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
  • Carrying out repairs to brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, tyres, clutches, and timing belts
  • Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostic testing
  • Preparing vehicles for sale and customer handover
  • Diagnosing engine, transmission, and drivability issues
  • Completing work efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth workshop operations
  • Providing excellent customer service when required

Position Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • MOT Class 4 Tester licence would be advantageous
  • EV qualifications or training would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models

Position Remuneration

  • Salary £42500 - £47000 (depending on experience)
  • Full-time, permanent position
