About Our Client:

Our client are a well-established, family-run general haulage business with a proud reputation for reliability and personal service. Operating across the UK with a fleet of 15 vehicles (including 12 artics and a few rigid vehicles), we manage a mix of own-fleet deliveries and pallet network operations. With a busy and growing workload, we\’re now looking for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team of 15 in the office.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring our fleet is utilised efficiently across the UK. You\’ll be responsible for planning routes, communicating with drivers, and helping to source and schedule work to keep things running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong geographical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience in transport or logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule vehicle movements across the UK using our own fleet and pallet network
  • Source and allocate jobs to maximise vehicle utilisation
  • Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout the day
  • Ensure timely collections and deliveries
  • Handle customer communication professionally and effectively
  • Take part in the on-call rota (shared across the team)
  • Support the overall smooth running of daily transport operations
