Position Overview

Our client is a market-leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics, offering a wide range of services including container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales. We are currently recruiting for a Night Transport Planner to join their busy depot at London Gateway. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established logistics company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate multiple drivers daily
  • Liaise directly with UK ports to book delivery slots
  • Use the TOPS transport system to record drivers' start and finish times
  • Monitor ETAs and ensure timely deliveries
  • Reroute jobs efficiently when required
  • Ensure all PODs (Proof of Deliveries) are accurately matched with corresponding jobs in the system
  • Communicate with customers regarding potential delays and delivery updates

Requirements

  • Proven experience in transport operations - essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Quick thinking with strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Flexibility to meet business demands
  • Container experience - desirable

Remuneration & Benefits
