On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a hands-on leadership role within the workshop, ensuring the efficient build, repair, refurbishment, and preparation of equipment.
Package:
- Salary £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Company pension scheme
- Early finish Fridays
- Working hours Monday - Thursday 8am till 5pm and Fridays 8am till 1pm
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in workshop activities including assembly, rework and testing of equipment
- Supervise and support workshop engineers on a day-to-day basis, providing hands-on guidance and technical support
- Support the Production Manager with workload prioritisation, coordination, and planning of upcoming projects
- Ensure all work is completed to specification, on time, and to required quality standards
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and requirements
- Maintain strict adherence to health & safety procedures across all workshop activities
- Carry out and oversee quality inspections and checks
- Coordinate effectively with engineering, service, and production teams to meet deadlines
- Attend production meetings, providing clear updates on project status, progress, and potential delays
- Contribute to continuous improvement through product and process feedback
Requirements:
- Time-served engineer or qualified to HNC/HND
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience in a workshop or production environment
- Strong experience in mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly and build environments, including pipework assembly, brazing, and soldering, working on small to large scale equipment with BoMs ranging from 70 to 300+ components.
- Ability to lead and support a small technical team effectively
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Strong commitment to health & safety and safe working practice
