Our client is a well-established precision engineering business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality machining solutions to customers across a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, rail, pharmaceutical, energy and general engineering.
Due to continued growth and investment in advanced manufacturing technology, they are looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Engineer with CNC machining experience to join their experienced engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in CNC machining, precision engineering, toolmaking or EDM machining to work within a modern manufacturing environment producing high-precision components to exacting standards.
The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture of complex components, working from engineering drawings and specifications while ensuring the highest levels of quality, accuracy and efficiency.
- Set, operate and monitor precision engineering machinery.
- Program and operate CNC equipment where required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances and customer requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining methods.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring and inspection equipment.
- Support production activities to ensure quality and delivery targets are achieved.
- Assist with machine maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience operating CNC milling, turning or EDM machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- CNC programming and machine setting experience.
- Toolmaking or precision engineering background.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection procedures.
- Experience working within a subcontract manufacturing environment.
