The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing site operations, and maintaining strong communication with the project team and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all site operations and coordinate subcontractors.
- Ensure work is carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Manage site health and safety, ensuring full compliance with legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
- Monitor progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
- Maintain site records including daily logs, permits, and inspections.
- Control site logistics, deliveries, and material storage.
- Ensure quality standards are achieved and defects are addressed promptly.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.
- Identify and resolve site issues to prevent delays.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and site management.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and multiple site activities.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Black Card (or equivalent manager-level card)
- First Aid at Work
- Asbestos Awareness (desirable in many roles)
