We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our expanding team, working on a diverse portfolio of commercial refurbishment, fit out and planned works projects. You will play a key role in securing new projects, preparing competitive tenders and supporting the commercial delivery of works for local authorities, major FM providers and commercial clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands refurbishment environments, enjoys working closely with clients and subcontractors, and wants to make a real impact within a growing business.
The Role
- Managing the estimating and commercial process from tender stage through to project delivery.
- Preparing accurate estimates, quotations and competitive tender submissions.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and client requirements to identify opportunities and risks.
- Producing detailed pricing, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost plans.
- Pricing refurbishment and fit out works across multiple trades.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Supporting procurement and commercial management of projects.
- Monitoring costs, variations and project performance.
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Providing clear commercial reporting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Commercial professional within construction.
- Experience delivering or pricing commercial refurbishment, fit out or planned maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of tendering, estimating and construction costs.
- Ability to confidently read drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Experience
- Background working with FM providers, local authorities, healthcare, education, offices or commercial clients.
- Experience with refurbishment, reactive works or fit out packages.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts, variations and project cost reporting.
