Streamline Search is working with an established and highly regarded large-format print and visual communications business that is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager. Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality print and visual communication solutions to a broad range of commercial customers across the UK. The business offers an end-to-end service, supporting customers from initial concept and technical consultation through to production, finishing and installation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a successful and well-established organisation with strong capabilities, a loyal customer base and genuine scope to develop new accounts.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities while building strong relationships with prospective customers. This will be a proactive new-business role, requiring someone who is comfortable opening doors, engaging decision-makers and developing opportunities from initial contact through to quotation and account development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and targeting prospective customers across relevant sectors
  • Developing new business through telephone, email, networking, referrals and face-to-face meetings
  • Building and managing a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Approaching marketing teams, agencies, retailers, contractors, event businesses and other organisations with large-format print requirements
  • Understanding customer requirements and working with internal teams to develop suitable solutions
  • Preparing and presenting proposals and quotations
  • Managing opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle
  • Building relationships with key decision-makers and becoming a trusted commercial contact
  • Attending client meetings, site visits, networking events and industry events where required
  • Working closely with account management, production, estimating and operational teams
  • Keeping CRM and pipeline information accurate and up to date
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new sectors and revenue streams
  • Converting new customers into profitable, long-term accounts
  • Achieving agreed new-business and revenue targets

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and proactive sales professional who is comfortable generating their own opportunities rather than relying solely on incoming enquiries. The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience within Business Development, New Business Sales, Account Development or a similar commercial role
  • A demonstrable track record of winning new B2B customers
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills
  • Confidence making outbound calls and approaching new organisations
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation ability
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline from initial prospect through to close
  • The ability to understand customer requirements and sell a solution rather than simply compete on price
  • A self-motivated, proactive and target-driven approach
  • Strong organisational and follow-up skills
  • Full UK driving licence
