A well-established commercial vehicle recovery and fleet services business is looking for an experienced Fleet Controller to join their busy operations team. This is a varied role managing the day-to-day movement and operation, supporting vehicle breakdowns and coordinating recovery work. The business is experiencing an increase in workload and is looking for someone with previous fleet, transport or operations experience who can take control of the day-to-day running of the fleet.
Fleet Controller - The Role
- Coordinate the day-to-day dispatch of vehicles and recovery jobs.
- Monitor and manage vehicle breakdowns and recovery requirements.
- Coordinate drivers and vehicles to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
- Keep track of the fleet and respond to operational issues as they arise.
- Communicate with drivers, customers and internal teams.
- Help manage the day-to-day movement of a mixed fleet of HGVs and light vehicles.
Fleet Controller - About You
- Previous experience within fleet, transport, logistics or vehicle operations.
- Comfortable coordinating vehicles and drivers in a busy environment.
- Able to remain calm and organised when dealing with breakdowns and time-sensitive work.
- Good communication skills and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions during a busy shift.
- Experience with HGVs or vehicle recovery would be advantageous but is not essential.
