The Junior Surveyor will support the senior commercial team in the successful delivery of interior fit-out projects, gaining hands-on experience across drylining, partitions, ceilings, firestopping and specialist finishes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their Quantity Surveying career who is looking to develop their commercial knowledge and progress within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site measurements and verify drawings, layouts and completed works.
- Assist with cost control, including material costs, variations, orders and project spend.
- Support the commercial team with the management of specialist packages, including drylining, partitions, suspended ceilings, firestopping and doorsets.
- Assist with monthly valuations, applications and final accounts.
- Help review subcontractor quotations and support package procurement.
- Maintain accurate project records, including site diaries, delivery notes and commercial documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support Senior Surveyors with day-to-day commercial and administrative duties.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, completed or currently studying.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop a career in Quantity Surveying.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
