Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Maritime & Boats Instructor located in Greenock & Glasgow. The instructor will conduct training sessions on and off the water delivering MCA and OPITO Lifeboat and Fast Rescue Boat Courses, time is split between the classroom and on the boats. Instructors will also deliver training in the swimming pool so should be comfortable in water also.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing training materials
  • Delivering practical and theoretical sessions
  • Providing support to delegates
  • Assessing performance
  • Maintaining training records
  • Staying updated on maritime safety regulations
  • Proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of training courses

Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of maritime operations, boat handling, and safety protocols
  • Valid STCW's including PSCRB (Required or STCW's plus 6 months sea time)
  • GMDSS or VHF Short Range Certificate (Required or willing to do the course to obtain)
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2 (Desirable)
  • Strong instructional, presentation, and teaching abilities
  • Experience developing and delivering training materials and maintaining detailed records
  • Willingness to work onsite in Greenock and adapt to flexible schedules
  • Driving licence preferred
