We are seeking an experienced financially-minded trustee to help shape the future of one of Britain's most important historic houses, Strawberry Hill House, Horace Walpole's iconic Gothic villa in Twickenham.
Responsibilities
- Lead on financial planning and policy, analysis of performance and financing strategy to support a growing number of projects in the coming year, leading to major development projects in the medium term, with a firm eye on financial sustainability and operational flexibility.
- Provide strategic leadership on financial matters and support the Director, trust board and senior management team.
- Support a small team where occasionally hands-on guidance is required.
- Oversee financial reporting and production of statutory accounts and lead the Finance sub-committee reporting to the main board.
Qualifications
- Experience of financial management in small to medium enterprises with good technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Experience of working in either the charity or not-for-profit sectors in a senior management position or as a trustee would be preferred but not essential.
- Experience overseeing financial reporting and production of statutory accounts and leading the Finance sub-committee reporting to the main board.
