Job Description
Based out of our clients commercial furniture suppliers warehouse in Essex. The role requires a proactive and highly organised Developing Operations Manager to lead warehouse operations, installation projects, and transport compliance across this UK logistics network. This role is instrumental in managing teams, driving quality standards, and ensuring legal and regulatory adherence, including tachograph monitoring, operator licensing, and driver hour compliance.
Key responsibilities
Warehousing & Installations
- Oversee warehouse operations including stock control, logistics coordination, and efficient goods movement
- Manage installation planning and execution across diverse UK sites ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
- Ensure fleet and equipment readiness and availability for installation
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop warehouse, installation, and transport staff, fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture
- Manage staff training, scheduling, and development to meet operational
- Host regular team briefings to align priorities and tackle operational challenges
- Monitor performance and deliver coaching/mentoring to improve team outcomes
Quality Control & Site Assessments
- Conduct Quality Assurance checks on all furniture upon delivery and upon dispatch
- Conduct regular quality audits for warehouse processes and installations
- Perform on-site assessments to evaluate service delivery, safety, and compliance adherence
- Develop corrective action plans and track resolution of quality issues
- Liaise with sales and Supply Chain teams to ensure client satisfaction and continuous improvement
- Maintain detailed records of assessments and use data to drive performance improvements
Transport Management & Compliance
- Lead transport planning, routing, and driver allocation
- Administer Operator’s License and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards
- Monitor tachograph data and driver logs to maintain legal driver hour limits
- Conduct periodic audits and liaise with regulatory bodies for compliance reviews
- Be aware of transport legislation changes and apply them to internal policies
Qualifications
CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management desirable
Must have a forklift truck licence
Experience
- Proven leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, and installation management
- Strong grasp of UK transport regulations, Operator Licensing, and tachograph analysis
- Expertise in quality assurance protocols and site evaluation methods
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Competency with logistics software, fleet tracking, and compliance systems

- Able to build relationships at all levels
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
