Our client is a growing and ambitious fit-out contractor delivering high-quality commercial interiors across London and the South East. Their portfolio includes workplace environments, hospitality venues, premium cafés and coffee chains, flexible workspace operators, and high-end restaurant projects. With a strong pipeline of repeat business and projects ranging from small refurbishments through to £3m fit-outs, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team and play a key role in delivering exceptional projects for their clients.
The Project Manager will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple fit-out projects from pre-construction through to handover. You will be responsible for managing programme, cost, quality, safety, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience delivering high-quality commercial fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage fit-out projects ranging from £250k to £3m in value.
- Lead projects from contract award through to practical completion and final account.
- Develop and manage project programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate design teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs and assist in maintaining profitability targets.
- Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Review and manage project risks and opportunities.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages in conjunction with the commercial team.
- Drive quality standards throughout the construction process.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and contractual obligations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Support the business's continued growth through professional project delivery and client engagement.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in project management within the fit-out, refurbishment, or interiors sector.
- Proven track record delivering commercial fit-out projects valued up to £3m.
- Experience within workplace, hospitality, retail, or leisure environments.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and project delivery processes.
- Excellent programme management and organisational skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Building, or related discipline.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience delivering restaurant, café, or flexible workspace projects.
- Knowledge of JCT contracts.
- Client-focused and commercially minded.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proactive problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working within a growing business where flexibility and initiative are valued.
