Stratton Mills are an employment agency who provide Fashion Personnel around the UK. We have a great opportunity for Sample Machinists. Successful candidates will be offered full time/part time shifts on a temp to perm/permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Provided with the patterns you will be responsible for the creation of the garment.
- Working with various fabrics and garments including dresses, trousers, light tailoring etc.
- Using machinery including Lock Stitch, Over Lock, Binder, Chain Stitch Binder, Twin Needle, Cover Stitch, Hemmer, Flat Lock, Button Hole, Button Machine etc.
- Changing machines to fit the requirements of the fabrics working on.
- Reading and understanding specification sheets.
Ideal Candidate:
- Good attention to detail.
- Experience of working to targets.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction.
- Proven ability to work on various fabrics and garments.
- Excellent cutting and stitching.
- Ability to change machines to the requirements of the fabric working on.
- Knowledge of reading and understanding specification sheets.
- A minimum of 3 years sewing experience gained within the industry.
