Were looking for a Deputy Manger to support the Registered Manager with the effective running of the residential home and be responsible for this in the absence of the Registered Manager.
To be responsible for and people manage the homes staff team and work allocations.
As well as undertaking direct work with the young people in the home when necessary.
To be responsible for all aspects of the residential premises and safeguarding the young people.
Ensuring that the home is in compliance with Company Policies and Procedures and meeting all Ofsted requirements and regulations.
This role requires the job holder to be able to work both day shifts and on-shift (including sleep-ins, long days, weekends and bank holidays) supporting the home and young people.

Key Responsibilities
Support and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
Safeguard young people and maintain high standards of care.
Oversee care plans, risk assessments and case files.
Lead shifts and ensure a safe, positive environment.
Support admissions, transitions and placements.
Liaise with families, social workers, schools and professionals.
Supervise, appraise and support staff development.
Assist with rotas, recruitment and staff inductions.
Ensure policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements are followed.
Participate in the on-call management rota.
Requirements
Essential:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Significant experience in residential childcare (ideally 2 - 3+ years)
Experience in a senior role with supervisory responsibilities
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, Childrens Homes Regulations, and Ofsted expectations
Ability to work days and shifts (including sleep-ins and weekends).
Ability to support the on-call management rota (including evenings and weekends)
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Working towards or willingness to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in residential childcare or social care.
Relevant qualifications in social care or child development.
