This senior role is pivotal in delivering high-quality care, safeguarding children, and maintaining an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and relevant safeguarding legislation.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff, fostering a culture of warmth, care, and professionalism.
  • Oversee individualised care plans, risk assessments, and the wellbeing of all children and young people in your care.
  • Manage the home's budget, finances, staffing, and training in line with policies.
  • Positively represent the home and services, liaising with external stakeholders, local authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Person Specification:

  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience in children's residential care; recent experience in residential childcare, OFSTED inspections, and budget management.
  • In-depth understanding of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding, child protection policies, and behaviour management strategies.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards within 2 years).
  • Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead desirable but not essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Relevant leadership or management qualifications in Children's residential care.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Clear enhanced child and adult workforce DBS check registered on the online update service.
