We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join a childrens residential home in Wolverhampton supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a full-time permanent position working a 2 on / 4 off shift pattern within a 3-bed residential setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager, leading shifts, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care are consistently delivered. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people
  • Promote positive outcomes, independence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support young people with education, routines, appointments, and activities
  • Assist with care plans, risk assessments, and incident reporting
  • Administer medication in line with company policies
  • Support and mentor Residential Support Workers
  • Ensure safeguarding and Ofsted standards are maintained at all times
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals

Requirements

  • Previous experience within childrens residential care
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD and challenging behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma in Childrens Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
