Stratton Mills Recruitment is currently recruiting for Children's Residential Support Workers to join our growing social care team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced support workers looking to secure a permanent position within a children's residential home after an initial temporary period. We are working with a number of established children's residential providers supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism and complex needs. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people.
- Build positive and trusting relationships.
- Promote independence, life skills and positive behaviour.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments and recreational activities.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured home environment.
- Follow safeguarding procedures, care plans and risk assessments at all times.
- Complete daily records, incident reports and handovers accurately.
- Work collaboratively with the wider staff team and external professionals.
- Support children to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
- Minimum 6 months' UK social care experience (Essential)
- Experience can be gained within: Children's Residential Homes, Adult Residential Homes, Supported Living Services, Care Homes, Hospitals, Other regulated health and social care settings
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Flexible to work day shifts, waking nights and sleep-ins.
- Passionate about supporting children and young people.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
- Experience supporting young people with EBD and challenging behaviours.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
