We are recruiting a committed and experienced Childrens Residential Home Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a childrens residential learning disability service in Coalville. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality, child-centred care is delivered at all times in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and best practice.
This is a hands-on position where the Deputy Manager will work shifts, including sleep-ins, and lead by example on the floor while supporting staff development, compliance, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the Registered Manager in the safe, effective and compliant management of the home
- Acting as the Deputy Manager on shift, providing leadership, guidance and supervision to the staff team
- Working directly with children and young people with learning disabilities, complex needs and associated behaviours
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are implemented and reviewed
- Promoting safeguarding, positive behaviour support and trauma-informed practice
- Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development
- Maintaining high standards of compliance with Ofsted regulations
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Essential)
- Experience working in a childrens residential setting
- Strong safeguarding and regulatory knowledge
- Ability to work shifts including sleep-ins
- Strong leadership skills
- Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
- Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Childrens Residential Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities or autism
- Experience in a senior or acting-up role
