Stratton Mills Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a growing Ofsted-regulated provider of Children's Residential Homes, supporting their recruitment for experienced Senior Residential Support Workers. Due to continued growth and expansion, our client has opportunities available across both their 2-bed EBD Children's Home and 3-bed EBD Children's Home. The Role

We are seeking passionate and experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to support the day-to-day running of the homes and help deliver outstanding care to children and young people. As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, leading shifts, supporting staff, and ensuring the homes operate in line with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. You will play a key role in creating a stable and nurturing environment that promotes safety, emotional wellbeing, education, independence, and positive life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support the effective day-to-day operation of the home.
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to Residential Support Workers.
  • Support young people to achieve their care plan goals and aspirations.
  • Complete accurate records, reports, risk assessments, and daily documentation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and therapeutic approaches to care.
  • Support safeguarding processes and child protection procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with Social Workers, Families, Education Providers, and External Professionals.
  • Participate in care planning, reviews, and key-working responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People's Workforce (Residential Childcare Pathway), or an equivalent qualification recognised by Ofsted (essential).
  • Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • Experience leading shifts or supporting staff within a residential childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker.
  • Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or equivalent behaviour management training.
  • Experience working within therapeutic or trauma-informed environments.
  • Working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Experience supporting children with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
