My client, a nationwide family services company, has an exciting opportunity for an HR Systems Administrator. This role requires an understanding of HR in a complex and regulatory driven organisation where you will support the delivery of a fully integrated, end-to-end operating model as part of the company's business-wide transformation programme.

This hybrid role based in central Birmingham will suit an experienced HR Systems Administrator with significant experience working with major HRIS platforms, LMS, Recruitment, Payroll and Onboarding systems. You will take ownership of the company's key people systems: HRIS, Learning, Recruitment and related systems, managing upgrades and enhancements and ensuring these systems are reliable, secure and user‑friendly while supporting the company's HR teams and internal users.

In addition to system maintenance and configuration, you will play a central role in the company's transformation and digitisation projects, partnering with DevOps, BI and operational teams to enhance reporting, data integrity and system integration. You will bridge the gap between technical system maintenance and the operational needs of the HR team, managing and optimising its digital HR systems.

You will also assist with the selection, implementation and optimisation of new HR applications, as well as reporting and analytics, working alongside the BI team to deliver accurate, timely and automated reporting. You will act as the first point of contact for HR system queries, troubleshoot and guide staff on system functionality, process improvement, vendor management and compliance with data protection and security standards.

Essential Skills
  • 3-5 years’ experience in systems administration, IT engineering, or advanced support roles.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining HR information systems (e.g., Sage People, PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems (e.g., Learn Amp or similar enterprise systems) and major HRIS platforms, LMS, Recruitment, Payroll and Onboarding systems.
  • Expertise in setting up user roles, permissions and automated workflows across several HR platforms.
  • Direct experience working with solution providers/vendors to manage relationships and oversee change management processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate ideas to all levels of colleagues and integrate into the team dynamic.
  • Good knowledge of UK GDPR.
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong documentation discipline and commitment to systems hygiene.
  • Strong understanding of HR data reporting, workflow automation and integration.
  • Familiarity with service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence or Azure DevOps within Agile environments.
  • Confidence to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience as an HR Systems Administrator in Family services or social care.
  • Experience supporting business decision‑making processes around software selection and implementation.
  • Ability to use SQL for querying databases and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience integrating with systems such as Power BI or Tableau for statutory and performance reporting.
