My client is a multinational financial services company catering to the pension, insurance and mortgage marketplaces. We are looking for a Software Tester who is local to their Chichester offices and has a background in Manual and some Automation Software Testing experience to work on their web applications based on a SaaS model for specific financial services products.
About the Role:
As a Software Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. You will be responsible for the quality assurance and testing of their systems, including various integrations from 3rd party providers and helping to start the company building automation scripts for their Web UIs and backend APIs. You will be collaborating with the Software Developers, helping to ensure efficiency throughout the process. Performing end-to-end test cases and providing feedback to the software development team as required.
Role responsibilities include:
- Contributing towards test planning.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand the scope of projects.
- Work closely with software developers and project support teams.
- Building Automation test scripts for Web UIs and APIs.
- Conduct various types of testing, including but not limited to functional, scalability, regression, discovery, stress and performance testing.
- Testing of development work to ensure the acceptance criteria has been met and that it functions in line with the development specification.
- Write and execute test plans.
- Test software in different environments, including web and mobile platforms.
- Document and communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Write bug reports and assess code quality.
- Identifying issues and raising tickets.
- All other testing activities.
- Provide objective feedback to software development project teams.
- Troubleshoot issues and design tests to mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence and working towards departmental and project deadlines.
You will ideally have the following experience:
- A minimum of 3 years integration and system software testing experience. Ideally within the financial services industry, would be an advantage but definitely not essential.
- Experience using Automation tools like Postman, Cypress or Selenium would be useful.
- Experience working with the .Net stack and specifically MVC would be an advantage but not essential.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps and Kanban boards would be an advantage but not essential.
- Experience with setting up and building Automated Test scripts tools would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Accreditation in Software Certified Testing (ISTQB / ISEB) would be an advantage but not essential.
As a software tester, working to deadlines, team collaboration, attention to detail, analytical skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
