This job will suit a candidate with B2B technology marketing experience, ideally within complex software or SaaS businesses.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for an experienced B2B technology marketer who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery. You will own the marketing plan, campaigns, channels, brand, content, budget and demand‑generation activity, ensuring marketing generates high‑quality leads and supports Sales in converting them.
You will also contribute market insight, customer understanding and marketing expertise to the development of the wider go‑to‑market strategy and positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the marketing plan, campaign calendar, channel mix and marketing budget.
- Lead demand generation across digital, direct sales support, partner and referral channels.
- Develop and execute campaigns aligned with commercial priorities, sales capacity and product readiness.
- Own brand, messaging, content and positioning across all marketing channels.
- Lead go‑to‑market marketing for new products, releases and roadmap developments.
- Ensure leads are appropriately qualified against the agreed Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) before handover to Sales.
- Develop sales enablement materials including propositions, pitch decks, case studies and sector messaging.
- Track campaign performance, lead quality and conversion, using insight to continually improve marketing effectiveness.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback and use these insights to inform positioning and targeting.
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success and Delivery to ensure marketing reflects genuine customer outcomes and product capability.
- Lead, coach and develop a small team, setting clear objectives, standards and ways of working.
- Help shape the future structure and capability of the marketing function as the business grows.
- Use AI and modern marketing tools to improve productivity, research, content production and campaign delivery.
About You
- Substantial B2B technology marketing experience, ideally within complex software or SaaS businesses.
- Proven experience leading and developing a marketing team.
- Strong experience in demand generation and multi‑channel marketing.
- Experience contributing to go‑to‑market strategy, positioning and proposition development.
- A strong track record of working with Sales and delivering sales enablement.
- Experience managing a marketing budget and measuring marketing performance against commercial outcomes.
- The ability to translate complex technical or product information into clear, credible customer messaging.
- A hands‑on approach — you are comfortable leading others while still getting involved in the detail.
- Strong commercial awareness, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Confidence using AI tools to support marketing activity.
- Experience in SaaS, ERP, or manufacturing or distribution industries would be advantageous, as would experience with partner/referral marketing, marketing analytics or supporting an on‑premise to cloud transition.
What You’ll Bring
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, customer-focused and accountable, with high standards and a genuine interest in developing people.
You will be comfortable challenging assumptions, using data and customer insight to improve marketing, and working collaboratively across Sales, Product, Customer Success and Delivery.
Most importantly, you will be a hands‑on marketing leader who can build capability, generate quality demand and turn strategy into effective execution.
