1st Line Network Engineer

1st Line Network Engineer – Hybrid in Guildford – Up to £36k

My client are a Guildford-based telecommunications company who are looking for a new 1st Line Network Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join an expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1st line network infrastructure support. This will include but not be limited to support, configuration and installation of various network devices and services
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Take ownership and monitor the progress of ongoing and escalated cases through to resolution.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
• Provide Level-1 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues with switching technologies, like STP, VLANs, VTP.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Good understanding and troubleshooting skills on the Optical Network and fibre connections, Optical interfaces, SFPs/ GBICs and etc.

This opportunity is 2/3 days a week in the office and to be considered for this role you must live within a 20-mile radius of Guildford.
