We are working with a seed-stage deep-tech company building a real-world autonomous robotics platform spanning hardware, robotics, embedded systems, autonomy, and cloud software. The business has a strong technical founding team, high talent density, and a clear ambition. This is deep-tech with real constraints, real impact, and real ambition. The goal is bold: build a category-defining company and scale it to unicorn level within the next few years. They are now looking to appoint a CTO to lead the next phase of scale.
The founders are actively seeking a senior technical leader to:
- Own and evolve the technical vision
- Introduce structure and management as the company scales
- Lead and grow a high-performance engineering team (currently ~10–12)
- Identify blind spots and guide the business through growth and fundraising
- Remain hands-on where needed in a fast-moving environment
Who They’re Looking For:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams
- Has seen (or worked closely with) scaling from early stage
- Thrives in high-pace, imperfect startup environments
- Technically credible and respected by strong engineers
- Excellent communicator with strong systems-level thinking
- Highly ambitious and motivated to build something exceptional
Technical Scope:
- The CTO must be an expert in at least one area, with the breadth to lead across the full system:
- Hardware & embedded systems
- Geospatial systems
- Agentic AI / autonomy
- Battery & power systems
- Supply chain & systems engineering
They offer generous equity options as they really are trying to grow rapidly and have goals of becoming a unicorn in the next 3-5 years. If you’re excited by real-world autonomy, deep-tech systems, and scaling something ambitious from the ground up, I’d love to speak.
