Job Type: Permanent, Full time, 32.5 hours per week/Part Time

Strathmore is part of Helix Learning Trust. Helix Learning Trust brings together five mainstream schools and three specialist schools serving children and young people aged 4 to 19 across the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Our family of schools includes three nursery and primary schools, two secondary schools, a joint sixth form, and three special schools, alongside five Specialist Resource Provisions within our mainstream settings. Strathmore school is a forward-thinking and innovative special school, currently located across the borough of Richmond in 4 campuses. All our sites are co-located with local, inclusive-minded mainstream primary and secondary schools, and we work closely with each school to promote an inclusive partnership. We are a happy, positive and hardworking staff, educating learners aged 4-19 with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities and many of whom have a co-diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition. We work closely with colleagues from Educational Psychology, Health and Social Care to ensure that our learners receive all the support and challenge they need to achieve. Every learner has an Education, Health and Care Plan that details what and how they are learning, including input from Speech and Language, Occupational, and Physiotherapy.
The Role
We are passionate about creating a supportive environment for our pupils and their families, and we believe in the power of partnerships to transform lives. As our Family Support Worker, you will be at the heart of this mission, making a real difference in the lives of our families. This role entails working with senior leaders to identify and support families, reduce barriers to pupil attendance and learning, help parents and carers to network, access support from other agencies (which may include financial support, housing, and social care), and work with the designated safeguarding lead, attending Children in Need (CIN) and Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings.
