Strathmore College are recruiting for an Assistant Cafe Manager for our Cafe based in Queen's Park, Longton. We are looking for a passionate and reliable individual to join our catering team. You will take the lead on daily cooking and food preparation, upholding high hygiene standards and ensuring that a wide range of dietary requirements are understood and catered for.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cooking and preparing daily meals
- Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene standards and following Aspris' Assured Safe Catering Policies and Procedures
- Completing daily paperwork
- Opening and closing the kitchen each day
- Assisting with cashing up tills
This role offers 24 hours per week including weekends, and we are ideally seeking someone who can also cover staff sickness and annual leave when required.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous experience in preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment along with the following characteristics:
- Communication - Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
- Organisation - You will need to be confident and organised in updating menus, dietary requirements and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
- Attentive - No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
