Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with the company’s standards and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all meals comply with the portion controls in place.
- Responsible for setting up for busy evening services.
- Through careful monitoring and regular spot checks, ensure that a high level of cleanliness and compliance are always maintained.
- Maintain excellent communication with front of house staff.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring all food is stored, prepared and served safely.
- Ensure correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
- Follow correct food allergy awareness procedures.
- Ensure all health and safety, fire and building regulations and procedures are complied with.
- Work closely with the university and facilities manager and undertake any training.
- Ensure all incidences and accidents are reported as appropriate, including the completion of all necessary paperwork.
Must be available in Glasgow to start the role with induction/training from 24th August; attendance is mandatory. Applicants who do not attend may have their role withdrawn. The shift pattern will be mainly Monday to Friday 4:30/5pm-8:30pm, however some weekend and evening shifts are required so the candidate must be flexible.
Person Specification:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- A current level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergen certificate preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- A genuine love for great food and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to stay calm under pressure, work efficiently to deadlines and keep a positive attitude.
- A confident, polite, and team-oriented approach – someone who lifts others up and gets stuck in.
- Someone who's flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Awareness of COSHH and chemical safety.
