About SPT
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. SPT is the proud custodian of the Glasgow Subway. Our services call at 15 stations, stretching across the West End and City Centre of Glasgow. Over the next few years we will be making history with huge investments that will affect all areas of operations, from new trains to stations upgrades and local community support.
About the Role
As a member of the Subway Operations team, following successful completion of your training, you will be responsible for driving trains to schedule and in accordance with the Subway Rules. A key aspect of the role will be to ensure that Customer Service Standards are met at all times, ensuring the safety of the travelling public by observing all applicable signals, in particular the Automatic Train Operating equipment, taking the appropriate actions when failures or emergencies occur.
Please note, this position falls into the high risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to random testing.
