About SPT
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. SPT is the proud custodian of the Glasgow Subway. Our services call at 15 stations, stretching across the West End and City Centre of Glasgow. About the Role
The Senior Operations Officer is a member of the Subway Operations management team supporting the Head of Service Operations & Security (Subway) to manage the day-to-day activities of all areas of the Operations Department. You will have a key role to play as a Senior Operations Officer with managing the service delivery functions including Line, Station Staff and Drivers, Control Room and Admin & Training functions. You will provide flexible cover to meet operations demands.
You will assist in the development of policies, procedures, service plans and budgets within departmental corporate plans and financial budgets. You will support agreed elements of the Subway Modernisation programme as it progresses, as agreed with the Head of Operations & Security (Subway).
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a senior operational role with a focus on excellent customer service. You will be able to demonstrate high levels of flexibility, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work within a safety critical environment. A Degree is desirable or relevant experience, an HND/C or equivalent management qualification is essential. A highly motivated, professional, reliable and capable individual you will be able to work under pressure while assessing operational situations and taking appropriate action. You will use your communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our services are delivered in a professional manner and deliver positive change.

Please note, this position falls into the high risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to random & for-cause testing procedures. Full time hours will be an average of 35 hours a week Monday to Friday. You will be required to undertake On Call on a 1 in 4 week basis. You will be based in the Operations Suite, Govan Subway Station, Glasgow.
