About SPT
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. We run the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. SPT is the proud custodian of the Glasgow Subway. Our services call at 15 stations, stretching across the West End and City Centre of Glasgow. Over the next few years, we will be making history with huge investments that will affect all areas of operations, from new trains to stations upgrades and local community support.
About the Role
The Lead Technical Trainer is a member of the Maintenance Services team supporting the Maintenance Services Manager. You will have a Lead on the delivery of technical training, competence assessment and internal verification for the maintenance of subway assets. You will develop and deliver training and competent assessment materials for technical training programmes including induction, refresher and cross-skilling. You will contribute to Training Needs Analysis, clearly defining safety critical task learning outcomes and competence assessment methods. You will ensure that all staff are trained and competent and maintain accurate training and competence records to report on KPIs and for audit purposes.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience of developing and delivering technical training material and working in an environment where safety is paramount. You will be able to demonstrate experience of risk-based competence management and assessment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work within a safety critical environment. An SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and training delivery qualification.
