About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Team Leader to join the Schools Agency Services section within our wider Bus Strategy and Delivery department. SPT acts as an Agent for 11 Unitary Authorities in the West of Scotland, providing the management, maintenance and monitoring of mainstream Home to School transport provision for 36,000 children on a daily basis.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of service to both internal and external clients, whilst ensuring and developing a more efficient quality of compliance within the organisation. A key aspect of the role will be to provide guidance and assistance in relation to the relevant legislation which govern road transport services to other SPT departments. You will supervise the Compliance Team, overseeing the day to day workload including allocating tasks and resources and ensuring all relevant compliance measures are in place.
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.
Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT operate a temporary hybrid working pattern which allows 40% home working, ie 2 days per week Monday to Friday.
Please note, this position falls into the ‘low’ risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for-cause testing procedures.
About you
The successful candidate will be educated to higher level or equivalent including English and hold a transport related qualification ie CILT or CPC. You will have experience of working in a public transport or retail environment with a focus on customer care. You will have an in-depth knowledge of customer service, bus regulation and compliance. With excellent planning and organisational skills, you will be flexible, motivated and have the ability to communicate effectively.
