Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships. SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.
The Regulator is responsible for the safe movement of all buses in the bus station ensuring the continuous operation of traffic and ensuring timeous departures. Responsibilities include keeping all unauthorised persons/vehicles off the operational area, controlling changes to bus movements within the stances, monitoring and controlling vehicle movements and speed, as well as control of parking.
Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good communication skills both orally and written. The ability to work in an environment where safety is paramount is essential. Candidates should be able to read timetables and fare tables, possess basic keyboard skills, and have good customer service skills with experience in a customer-facing/front line role. A good general knowledge of the transport industry and bus rules and regulations would be an advantage. Relevant qualifications including National 5 Level A-C equivalent in English and Maths/Arithmetic are required.

You will be expected to work at Buchanan Bus Station, however you could be asked to work at various locations within SPT’s remit. The earliest start at any location will be 06:00 hours with the latest finishing time being 23:00 hours. This is a part-time position, working 17.5 hours per week. You will be based at Buchanan Bus Station, 10 Killermont Street, Glasgow.
Please note, this position falls into the high-risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to random and for-cause testing procedures.
