THE ROLE
The Wholesale Director will be a key member of Strathberry’s senior team, responsible for driving growth and profitability across the company’s global Wholesale channels, which includes major department stores, independent retailers and distributors in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of one of the UK’s most exciting luxury brands.
The successful candidate will be a highly driven, commercially focused, and entrepreneurial leader with significant wholesale and leadership experience. Ideally, they will also bring a strong understanding of the luxury sector, as well as a passion for brand-building and international growth.
This role can be based in either Edinburgh or London, with frequent travel to Edinburgh and to Strathberry’s key global markets.
Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position based in Edinburgh or London. We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with a minimum of 3 fixed days required each week working either from our beautiful Townhouse in Edinburgh City Centre or our London City Centre office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team and the Wholesale Team to develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy to achieve ambitious revenue and growth targets, supporting Strathberry’s journey to £100m revenue by 2028
- Act as a key member of the senior team, collaborating with the Managing Director, founders, and functional heads to drive the overall Strategy and business development
Wholesale Management
- Working with the Wholesale Team to drive the growth and profitability of Strathberry’s global wholesale business, with key partners in North America, the UK, the Middle East, and Asia
- Identify and develop new wholesale partnerships in line with Strathberry’s brand positioning and long-term strategy
- Foster and own strong relationships with key wholesale partners, ensuring alignment on brand vision, assortment, and marketing support
- Negotiate commercial agreements, seasonal buying plans, and annual targets with key accounts
Pop-Up Strategy and Execution
- Define and implement Strathberry’s Wholesale pop-up strategy as a key growth driver and brand awareness tool
- Oversee the planning, execution, and commercial success of any Wholesale pop-up activations in key markets
- Ensure pop-up initiatives are integrated with the wider commercial strategy and deliver strong ROI
Stock and Product Management
- Be accountable for the timely stock shipments, sufficient and clean partner stock-levels and optimal stock arrangements to maximize the sales across accounts
- Work with key wholesale partners to manage on-going stock levels, through ensuring sufficient in-season, available stock, and regularly reviewing partner stock levels and offering win-win solutions to any stock issues
- Analyse product sales, and gather partner feedback to provide useful insights back to the product design and development teams to feed into future product offers
Financial Accountability
- Own the P&L for Wholesale ensuring that revenue, margin, and profitability targets are met or exceeded
- Work closely with the Finance team to develop accurate forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
- Drive cost control, margin enhancement, and operating efficiencies across the commercial business
People Leadership
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing Wholesale Team
- Foster a high-energy, results-driven, and collaborative team culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement

ABOUT YOU
To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Commercial Leadership: Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role, ideally within the luxury, fashion, or premium consumer goods sectors
- Wholesale Expertise: Strong experience leading wholesale operations, with a track record of delivering commercial success across multiple channels and regions
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable, with a commercial acumen and a solutions-focused approach
- Luxury Brand Knowledge: Experience working within the luxury sector is highly desirable, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of premium brands
- Global Market Knowledge: Experience working across multiple international markets, with an understanding of North America, the Middle East, and Asia
- Negotiation & Relationship Building: Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Financial Acumen: Strong analytical skills with experience in managing a P&L and driving financial performance
- Leadership & Team Development: A natural leader with experience in building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams
- Flexibility & Willingness to Travel: Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required
