We are seeking a talented Leather Artisan to join Strathberry on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover, managing our in-house Atelier in Edinburgh. Supporting Strathberry's commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, you will work closely with our Design, Product Development, Customer Care and Production teams to create new collection prototypes, oversee our repair service, and help maintain the highest quality standards across our products.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that values creativity, quality, craftsmanship, collaboration and innovation. The successful candidate will undertake a training programme in Spain to gain a comprehensive understanding of Strathberry's repair processes and craftsmanship standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Strathberry Atelier.
  • Oversee the in-house repair service, carrying out high-quality repairs and restoration of customer handbags and small leather goods.
  • Work closely with the Leather Artisan Assistant ensuring consistently high standards of craftsmanship.
  • Create salpa prototypes for new product developments, working closely with the Design and Product Development teams to evaluate construction, proportions and functionality.
  • Collaborate with the Leather Technologist to investigate product issues, support testing and contribute practical solutions to improve product quality and durability.
  • Support the ongoing review of existing silhouettes to enhance product longevity and construction.
  • Work with the PR teams to create craftsmanship content and welcome guests into the Atelier.
  • Support brand events, including craftsmanship demonstrations and personalisation services when required.

About you:

  • Experience working with luxury leather goods.
  • Strong leathercraft skills, including hand-stitching, cutting, skiving, edge finishing and repairs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior artisans is advantageous.
  • Spanish language skills are desirable but not essential.
