The Conveyor Belt Fitter is responsible for the hands-on installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance of conveyor belting systems and associated machinery at customer sites. This role ensures maximum operational uptime by executing scheduled servicing, rapid breakdown response, and precise mechanical fitting.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Fitting: Measure, cut, prep, and fit modular, PVC, rubber, or flat belting to client specifications.
- Splicing & Joining: Perform mechanical fastener installation, cold chemical bonding, or hot vulcanized splicing on site.
- Maintenance & Adjustments: Inspect conveyor lines to tension, align, and track belts, replacing worn sprockets, rollers, bearings, and guides.
- Fault Finding & Repair: Rapidly diagnose mechanical failures during emergency breakdowns and execute safe, effective repairs.
- Site Safety & Documentation: Comply strictly with site Health & Safety rules, follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and complete job service sheets accurately.
