Location: On-Site (Stratford, ON)
Duties: Under the supervision of the Lions Pool Program Supervisory Team and Instructor/Guards, LITs will assist in providing a positive and safe recreational experience for the public. They will be knowledgeable of pool regulations, city policies and procedures and provide exceptional customer service to all members of the community.
Work Performed:
- Provide excellent customer service and project a positive image for the City of Stratford; being courteous and respectful to all members of the community.
- Take responsible action to protect the health and safety of all participants and patrons.
- Assist in the implementation of swimming lessons for all required levels.
- Assist in the maintenance of daily, weekly and monthly tasks including proper documentation.
- Assist in basic pool and facility operations.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Aid in the consistent enforcement of pool rules and support response to incidents and the completion of documentation.
- Provide coverage for shifts in the event of staff absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion.
- Current Emergency First Aid/CPR-B.
- Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross is preferred.
Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications:
- Previous experience of being a lesson-assistant is an asset.
- Additional pool-related certification is considered an asset (ie. Assistant Instructor).
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C/AED is considered an asset.
- Possess some knowledge and understanding of risk mitigation and safety practices in an outdoor pool setting.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative to build positive working relationships with coworkers, participants and community members.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards tasks and willingness to grow.
