Instrumental Instructors of Baby Strings
Can you make a difference to the future lives of Glasgow\βs young musicians? Glasgow City Council is seeking to appoint Instrumental Instructors of Baby Strings to work in various establishments throughout the city. You must be a passionate and well-qualified musician with a true commitment to teaching, who will inspire the musical development of our children and young people.
Teaching duties: Deliver whole-class violin, viola and cello lessons as part of a team in primary schools. Work alongside other teachers, support curriculum delivery, manage class coaching sessions, and ensure inclusive learning environments.
Eligibility & qualifications: Must be a qualified musician, hold GTCS registration, and have a firm commitment to improving outcomes for Glasgow\βs young people. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential after appointment; successful candidates will be required to pay for their PVG membership/or scheme checks. Candidates offered an interview should attend 20 minutes before the allotted interview time and be prepared to perform one piece of their choice on their first instrument, followed by a formal interview.
Contract: Temporary, up to 12 months. Working hours 7β14 per week.
