A secondary school in Watford are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Careers Lead Co-ordinator to lead and develop their whole-school careers programme. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher looking to step beyond the classroom or an experienced careers professional passionate about shaping student futures. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring every student leaves the Academy equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in further education, training or employment. You will lead on careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG), ensuring alignment with Gatsby Benchmarks, the Baker Clause and DfE statutory guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a progressive, whole-school careers strategy
  • Coordinate meaningful encounters with employers, universities, colleges and alumni
  • Lead work experience, careers events, enterprise activities and guest speaker programmes
  • Monitor and evaluate impact using tools such as Compass+
  • Support staff in embedding careers across the curriculum
  • Track student destinations and work to reduce NEET figures
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders and providers
  • Stay informed on labour market trends and opportunities

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people, ideally in education or careers guidance
  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Is passionate about improving student outcomes and future opportunities
  • Can inspire and support colleagues to embed careers education across the curriculum

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification
  • Experience using careers platforms such as Compass+ or Unifrog
  • Experience working within a school or multicultural environment
