We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and highly organised Site Manager to join our friendly and thriving primary school in Southend-on-Sea. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities, premises, or site management professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
Working closely with the Leadership Team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school site, buildings, and grounds, ensuring that all facilities are maintained to a high standard and comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the security of the school site, including opening and closing procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Manage health and safety across the site, including risk assessments, compliance checks, and statutory testing.
- Coordinate and monitor contractors working on site.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
- Support the planning and delivery of school events and activities.
- Manage cleaning, caretaking, and other site-related services as required.
- Maintain accurate records relating to premises management, compliance, and health and safety.
- Respond promptly to site-related issues and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to school operations.
- Have experience in site, facilities, premises, or property management.
- Possess a sound understanding of health and safety legislation and building maintenance.
- Be practical, hands-on, and able to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Be able to work independently and use initiative to solve problems effectively.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
