SEN Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants

The Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant / LSA, you will support students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. You may work 1:1 with a student or support small groups, helping them access the curriculum and engage in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN
  • Assisting students with their learning, both in and out of the classroom
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies
  • Encouraging independence and confidence in students

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A degree or relevant experience in education, care, or support work
  • A genuine interest in SEN and supporting young people
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A proactive, flexible, and resilient approach
