Role Purpose

The Head of Geography will provide strategic and operational leadership of the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, strong curriculum design, and excellent outcomes for all students. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner to inspire excellence and ensure that every student thrives in Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4. Person Specification

  • Essential
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Geography or a related subject.
  • Successful experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography.
  • Evidence of raising standards and improving outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Desirable
    • Experience of leading or supporting a subject or department.
    • Experience teaching across multiple key stages, including examination classes.
    • Evidence of curriculum development or examination specification leadership.
    • Experience of mentoring or coaching colleagues.
