Our client, a high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in West London, is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Science to lead a dynamic and successful department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to drive innovation, raise attainment, and inspire a passion for science across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Science department (Chemistry, and Physics)
- Lead, develop, and support a team of teaching staff to deliver outstanding lessons
- Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and assessment across KS3–KS5
- Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
- Manage departmental resources, including laboratories and equipment
- Promote STEM engagement and enrichment opportunities
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement planning
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in a Science discipline
- Proven experience teaching Science up to KS5
- Successful leadership experience within a secondary school setting
- A track record of improving student outcomes and departmental performance
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
