We are seeking an enthusiastic and accomplished Head of Geography to join a thriving secondary school in Ealing from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geography teacher or current middle leader to lead a passionate department and inspire students to achieve academic excellence and a love of the subject.
The Role
- Lead, manage, and develop the Geography curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that motivate students and foster curiosity about the world
- Promote a culture of high achievement and academic excellence within the department
- Organise field trips, enrichment activities, and extracurricular opportunities to enhance learning
- Monitor student progress and drive attainment through effective assessment and intervention
- Support and develop members of the Geography department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching Geography at secondary level
- Experience in a leadership role or the ambition to take on departmental leadership
- A strong track record of improving student outcomes
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- A passion for Geography and environmental education
