We are recruiting for a Class Teacher to join a specialist provision in Thurrock for children with severe and complex learning difficulties. The job role is full time and will start in September. Salary: MS/UPR plus fringe allowance + SEN allowance.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding Class Teacher to join an innovative, passionate, and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, creative, and flexible practitioner who has high expectations for our pupils.

We are looking for a Teacher who:

  • Is passionate about creating inventive, engaging, and personalised learning experiences
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills and can respond flexibly to the complex needs of pupils
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and values collaboration
  • Has effective communication skills and can build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Is aspirational for all learners and committed to helping all pupils reach their full potential
  • Is reflective, resilient, and committed to improving their practice

While experience in a PMLD setting is advantageous, it is not essential. We welcome applications from Teachers in other settings who are eager to develop their practice in specialist education. The children are aged from 2 to 19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The successful candidate will become a part of a staffing team that is passionate about providing pupils with the best possible learning experiences.

The school provides highly personalised, holistic learning experiences that support communication, physical development, and engagement with the world. The school does not cater for pupils with an ASD diagnosis.

Successful candidates will benefit from:

  • High-quality on-going CPD tailored to individual career goals
  • The opportunity to work alongside highly experienced colleagues to share best practice and extend knowledge
  • A strong culture of collaboration, coaching, and professional support
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression with a skilled and dedicated team.

The school recognises the importance of staff wellbeing and work-life balance. In addition to a supportive working environment, they offer a two-week October half term. This is a rewarding role and if you are ready to embrace the challenge, we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including eligibility to work in the UK, an enhanced DBS disclosure and full references including one from your most recent employer. Strategy Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
